Our Family

Welcome! We are the Million Miles Family.  We are a family of five living in an RV full time.  Feeling a little bit stuck in life and hating that we didn't have enough time together as a family, we decided it was time for a change.  We heard about families living in RVs and traveling around the country and this quickly became our dream.  While we are not quite to that point and we have some steps to take to make that a reality, we have started down the path.  We sold almost all of our possessions and sold our house and moved into a 32 foot travel trailer.

Selling all of your stuff can be overwhelming while also be freeing at the same time.  We started downsizing almost a year before we sold our house and we still have a ways to go. While ultimately we want to travel, we have other steps to complete first.  We want to buy land in the canyon and build a house that we can make into a vacation rental and live in part time.  We must be able to support our family financially before we can travel.  This is top priority.  So that is what we are currently working on.  We have rental properties already but they are not enough to supplement our current income. So we are taking the time to build that business.

This is us:

The dad of our little group is Brian.  He is an engineer and the handiest man you will ever meet.  He loves all things outdoors.  He rides bikes, camps and hikes in the summer. In the winter he skis, snowshoes and snowboards. He is also the brains behinds most of our operations.  He is constantly thinking outside the box of ways to live our lives more fully.

My name is Stacey.  I am the mom.  I love spending time together as a family.  I also love the outdoors and camping.  I love spending time with my friends and talking for hours.  I am the talker of the family.  I tend to be the organizer and the man behind the scenes to keep this family running.  I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Charlie is our oldest.  He is our methodical thinking child.  He thinks through everything and asks questions constantly.  He is tenderhearted and loves deeply.  He loves making friends.  Dinosaurs are his life's passion and knows more about them than most adults.  He is a quiet leader for his sisters and likes helping to teach them new things.

Kya is our middle child.  She is full of life and is completely motivated by fun.  She is extremely shy until she gets comfortable and then talks incessantly. I wonder where she gets it from. She loves people deeply and is our major cuddle bug.  She is the perfect middle child, able to adjust her play to either sibling and she is our families peacekeeper.

Lily is the baby.  She has the most spunk and is our little comedian.  She loves her siblings so much and wants to be doing everything they are doing.  Luckily they are good about including her.  She is a daddies girl and hates the days he is at work.  She loves make believe and lollipops.  She brings our family so much joy and laughter.

There we are in a nutshell.  We love, laugh, and dream together.  We hope you enjoy following our journey to make our dreams become a reality.

                                                                                            Stacey

  1. Paul and I went to Chicago on vacation last week and we visited The Field Museum. The dinosaur exhibit is amazing - including Sue, a 90% recovered T-Rex! While viewing the exhibit we were talking about Charlie and how much he would love it (we remembered how he educated us on the dinosaurs while we were in Utah!). Please add the Chicago Field Museum to places to visit in your family adventures!
